The importance of cooking with your children
Sometimes, you may be so frustrated at the end of a long work day, that you may not want to share your kitchen with anyone else. Spending time with your children in the kitchen is a time for bonding and teaching, not a time for hurrying.
Don’t you remember standing on the chair in your own mother’s kitchen trying to help? Or maybe you stood with your grandmother. Personally, I had the honor of being taught by my mother, grandmother and uncle.
The time that is spent together “creating” in the kitchen may be an old fashion idea in today’s hurried society, but is there anything wrong with that? The next time that you are rushing past your child as you hurry around the kitchen, stop and think about what precious memories you are letting pass by, just because you are in a hurry.
